Celebrating 250 years: Living up to the promise of America
Happy 4th of July! Today, our nation celebrates 250 years of independence. In reflecting upon that, NJEA produced an advertisement titled “Living up to the promise of America: Helping New Jersey students build a brighter future for all.” It features New Jersey students reciting the pledge of allegiance and reflects on America’s promise of liberty and justice for all. LUMI: NEA RA voting device instructions
A majority of voting on the floor at this year’s NEA RA will take place using a LUMI voting device. Each morning, your voting card and voting device will be on your seat. At the conclusion of the business, you will leave it on your seat. When you receive the device, don’t turn it on. This will conserve battery life, should the meeting run long. Instructions will be given from the stage as to how and when to turn the voting keypads on. When it’s time to vote, you’ll insert the voting card into the voting keypad device to cast your vote. If a voting device is not working, see the Voting Device Assistance booth for a new LUMI device.
