NEA PAC fundraising incentives for Sunday, July 6

NJEA is trying to catch up to other top contributing states to NEA’s Political Action Fund (PAC). The goal of NEA PAC is to support elected officials who ensure our schools are a place where all students are protected and empowered. Help us maintain our goal as the top contributor by making a donation. Here are today’s incentives:

  • NJEA sling tote – $10 donation
  • SOGI beach towel – $25 donation
  • You Are Safe pin – $5 donation
  • Denver NEA RA bracelet – $25 donation
  • NJEA portable charger – $25 donation
  • NJEA portable fan – $15 donation

NEA ushers in new officers

On July 5, NEA RA delegates elected a slate of officers, during NEA’s Representative Assembly (RA) in Denver. With the votes counted, delegates elected Princess Moss, an elementary school music teacher from Virginia, as president, Noel Candelaria as vice president, and Robert Valera Rodriguez, as secretary-treasurer through NEA’s democratic election process. The newly elected officers will assume office on September 1. Learn more here.

NJ ESPs win ESP at Large Executive Director positions

Congratulations to New Jersey delegates, Charles Wilson, III and Sidney Flournoy for being elected to serve as NEA ESPs At-Large! In the position, these delegates will represent ESP members at the national level alongside state-elected delegates. Candidates running for these seats typically utilize the deliberative sessions to emphasize issues like fair compensation, safe working conditions, and professional respect for ESPs.

After a long and productive day at the RA on Saturday, July 4, the Bergen County Education Association kicked back at a Colorado Rockies game.
