NEA PAC daily incentives – July 6

Thank you to everyone who continues to donate to NEA PAC. Because of your donations, the delegation earned an extra hour of sleep. Keep the donations coming in! Let’s reclaim our number one spot as the top NEA PAC fundraising state. Here are today’s incentives:

Register for today’s NEA Day of Teaching, Learning, and Organizing for Power

You must register for today’s NEA day of training. NEA sent each delegate an invitation to register at the email address on file. The first session of the training day will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by lunch from 12 to 1 p.m., and the second training session will be from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be time for reflection and connection from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Delegates should return to the floor at 4 p.m. for the remainder of business to be considered. Be in your seat on time so that you can sign the attendance book. 

The trainings being offered are as follows:

  1. Building Power for the Common Good
  2. Countering Authoritarian Overreach 
  3. Using Social Media and Advocacy to Mobilize
  4. Defeating Vouchers and Privatization 
  5. Inclusive Education: Promoting Social, Racial, Economic, and Education Justice

NJEA delegates win elections and prizes at 2025 NEA RA

 

 

 

 

Congratulations to our NJEA delegates, Brenda Braithwaite (Atlantic County), Marquisha Reynolds (Hudson County), and Neysha Parker (Camden County) on their newly elected roles. Braithwaite was elected the new Northeast Director of NCUEA. Reynolds was elected the new Northeast Director of the Black Caucus. Parker was elected the new Northeast Director of the NEA Republican Caucus.

Congratulations to Bertha McPhaul (Union County) who won an Amazon gift card for $100.

Congratulations to the winners of the MOC Welcome Reception contest “What is your MOC number?” They each received a MOC t-shirt for having the highest number of points in the game. The winners were: Rhonda Williams (Mercer County), Crystal White (Essex County), Brenda Avery (Passaic County), Melody Fitzgerald (Monmouth County) and Yanci Merkel (Somerset County).
